Standing tall opposite the area is Mt Psiloritis, the largest mountain in Crete, which at times is covered in snow and fills visitors with awe and admiration at its splendour.
The beach of Komos is very near the village (1,5 km) where anybody can visit either by car or on foot through the sandy paths and planted vineyards, almond trees, fig trees, sedar trees and small hills.
At a distance of 3,5 km is where the renowned beach of Matala is located. Here you will find yourself at the caves situated in the sea, one of the most unusual and unique areas on the island.
There is a high possibility that you will come across the last existing hippy, who has been living in one of the caves since the 80’s.
After your afternoon walk on the beach, you can enjoy an enchanting sunset which bathes the Libyan Sea in colours as the sun dips into its waters!
