Pitsidia, Heraklion, Crete
The village Pitsidia is located in the most southwestern part of the Valley of Messaras, in the Prefecture of Heraklion. This traditional village is blessed with many gifts. It is known for the unique morphology of its land, mountain slopes and blooming hills with thousands of beautiful flowers, bushes, herbs and fruitful trees which all contribute to making it beautiful throughout all seasons.
Standing tall opposite the area is Mt Psiloritis, the largest mountain in Crete, which at times is covered in snow and fills visitors with awe and admiration at its splendour.
The beach of Komos is very near the village (1,5 km), which anybody can visit either by car or on foot through the sandy paths and planted vineyards, almond trees, fig trees, sedar trees and small hills.
